So, I've been thinking more and more about what I want to do after I'm done with this internship. I thought about staying in Alaska- while that would be interesting, I don't know if I could actually *tolerate* the snow and darkness, since I can't even seem to tolerate a couple of days of rain. >.>

I don't really want to pick up and move across the country again for a job I'm likely only going to have for a couple of years, since I definitely want to go to grad school full time for a MS or Ph.D. So, I thought moving to Albuquerque might be a nice compromise- people I know, a place I've never lived but am familiar with, and at least a little less stagnation-y than Socorro.

However, I know jack all about the environmental job market up there. I've been looking into environmental consulting firms, but I'm curious if anyone in the area has any direct experience with environmental work in Albuquerque.

Also- is it easy to find an apartment with washer/dryer hookups? Random, but necessary. :) Any other info about the apartment scene in Alb would be helpful as well... cost, quality, good locations, that sort of general stuff.

There are a number of condo/apartments in the albuquerque area that have W/D hookups. Some, like the apartments I had downtown came with W/D, but that's more rare methinks.

Most of the cheap stuff in the Uni area don't, however. Laundromat is the slumlord's friend.
