So, got the results of my thyroid biopsy yesterday. Apparently, the abnormal nodule in my thyroid contains a bunch of cells that are secreting too much thyroid hormone. Hyperthyroidism!

Are you going to get thyroid surgery?

I had a bout with hyperthyroidism once, but it was temporary, caused by "thyroiditis."

Happened to a former supervisor of mine.

The most memorable part of that was getting a call from him while I was working that basically consisted of him saying, "I'm on painkillers... jealous?" and giggling a bit.
